Black lives matter advocates are not saying that only black lives matter: that’s your uniformed and frankly ignorant assumption. Black lives matter isn’t a phrase being said in a vacuum. It’s said in direct response to police brutality. Therefore when I say black lives matter and you say all lives matter you are attempting to undermine my point that black lives are undervalued in our society. You having a half black daughter doesn’t make you not racist, nor does having a black friend.
