For a long time, I also recognized that conservatism and segregationists went hand in hand. Considering old school senators like Jeff Sessions who fought against the Civil Rights movement only to become Trump's first Attorney General. However, long before Trump, Republicans have been in bed with white supremacists. It's true that the Democrats or Dixiecrats as we know them in the South lack consistency. I think of it as two parties within a party. There is the squad and Bernie and then there are the moderate Democrats. For the most part, moderate Democrats demosntrate weakness when it comes to fighting for Black people. This is particularly shameful since we are the main ones who consistently support them election after election. For me, Biden should pick a Black woman VP and then stop pandering. All that ass kissing will not help him. Democrats failed to win the white male vote since before Bill Clinton. They need to give it up and invest in voters that will actually support them.
