I agree with you that considering African culture demonic is a side effect of racist oppression. I really enjoyed watching Black is King. It actually made me tear up a bit to see Black people portrayed as brilliant, powerful, and dynamic characters.

The African American perception of religion is sometimes too limited to European interpretations of divinity. I respect their Christian faith but I dislike their inclination to drag down Black people who are just expressing themselves through art.
