I am glad that you mentioned the fact that Asians hold positive stereotypes. I know that Asian Americans experience a lot of discrimination. However, these positive stereotypes are something I would have liked. I would have loved for people to see me and think I am amazingly talented and intellegent.

However, all stereotypes can be problematic. I know it's not fun for people to expect you to do something just to fulfill social expectations. I am also guilty of thinking of Asian Americans as very intellegent. However, I always felt this was a product of the pressure to excel. It is so difficult to overcome other people's expectations. Thanks for writing this.
