I can certainly understand feeling like the hatred was too much to engage in the conversation. But, I think that moving the movement forward means having uncomfortable conversations.

We can't fix racial inequality while shying away from conversations about race.

And we can't fix gender inequality while shying away from a conversation about sex, gender, and identity.

I am a Black woman. I experience discrimination and racism every day, but if I close the conversation, then future generations will face the same. I feel that engaging in these conversations is a personal experience and not to taken lightly, but I don't see us bringing about change without the uncomfortable conversation.
