I despise all symbols of White Supremacy, whether targeting Black people, Jewish people, or any other marginalized groups.
I like that Germany has banned the Swastika and kind of despise the fact that America maintains these symbols in our communities in the name of "free speech."
But you should understand that in the South, where I'm from, we see Confederate flags flying. We don't see Swastikas proudly in front of White people's homes. I have never seen one, except as a tattoo on a white supremacist I had to work with.
This is the reality and so that's why I'm focusing on the Confederacy. Americans have not acknowledged the harm this symbol has and continues to cause.
