I don't think you have to know more about Black people than we have to think about White people. We live in a society where white is seen as normative, so you think you are having to consider us more but that's not entirely true. How many Black authors did you have to read in school? For 13 years (kindergarten to 12th grade), I read mostly white authors, watched movies with mostly white actors. Culturally, America still prioritizes the needs of White people. All Black people are asking for is to live in dignity, have equitable access to opportunities, and treated with respect.
