She states, “The election will not so much be about who gets to lead the country to a better future, but rather how we can support ourselves and our own ability to continue to organize and place pressure on those in power. If we want to continue this work, we certainly need a person in office who will be more amenable to our mass pressure. And to me, that is the only thing that someone like a Joe Biden represents.”
I loved reading your article. Angela Davis is one of my favorite people. I do feel that her words are very appropriate. I am a leftist so I can speak from that political perspective. While I would like to see more aggressive policies targeted at solving social problems, I realize that a decision must be made and Biden is the right choice in this context.
On the Hyde Amendment, he has already changed his mind. This indicates his willingness to listen to his constituency. I value his leadership style and I think that during this election, supporting him wholeheartedly is very important. However, if I mention him on my timeline, I get attacked vigorously. I am nervous that this election may make me have to lose old friends. Hopefully I can make some new ones.
