I respect your perspective. You have a right to feel that way. But this is not about “womanism being popular.” It was wrong to disrespect Black women when he did it and it is wrong today. Just like racism was wrong before and it’s wrong now.
Throughout the piece, I talked about how 1. I enjoyed his music growing up 2. He helped Eve’s career and 3. that he led a genius, yet tragic life.
So I think that you are off base by insinuating that I was encouraging hatred for DMX. But, whitewashing his memory does not serve any purpose and there were already enough articles worshiping him blindly.
