I think you are right about Americans feeling uncomfortable with death. To me, horror movies are a bit much. I cannot watch them by myself.

I knew kids that did not celebrate Holloween because of Christianity. In Mexico, they honor their loved ones that passed. I'm so happy you wrote about the nuance of Holloween. Too often, people celebrate it in a cookie-cutter way that skips over the history of it.
