It's sad to hear about the persecution the LGBTQ community has to endure in Africa.

Besides suppressing the film, Nigerian authorities threatened Adie and Ikpe-Etim with arrest and imprisonment, a threat the women knew was not idle. They’re well acquainted with the lengths the Nigerian government will go to enforce a 2014 law which criminalizes homosexuality and has been interpreted to criminalize art that features homosexuality.
