Read her piece. I see where she's coming from but I disagree. We cannot get rid of whiteness until there stops to be a distinction between how white people and black people are treated.

Getting rid of the terminology would only lead us into an era where we pretend we're all equal, allowing injustices un-confronted.

I agree with yoru perspective of taking ownership of whiteness, it can't be thrown out until we fix the problem of racism.
