Thanks for reading. Look, I don't want you or anyone else to feel bad for being White. It's not about having privilege, it's about how you use it. As long as you are using your privilege to help others, it can actually be a benefit to the broader movement of advancing civil rights. He is a poor example of a human being, and is using his whiteness as a tool to avoid accountability. I hate that. But your ability to identify his harmful behavior is a good indication, you're nothing like him. It's sad that many White people do normalize this harmful behavior. Hopefully, in raising awareness, we can empower more people to distance themselves from anti-Black racism and discrimination of all kinds.
