Thanks for the thoughtful take on this incident. I think there is enough wrong to go around. Chris Rock and other comedians have to learn that folks have a low tolerance for jokes that offend. And the personal nature of the joke hit hard. Also, I wouldn't judge my husband for reacting this way (he picked Will's side), but I also would rather it handled nonviolently because I think unintentionally, Smith brought even more attention to Jada's condition and if the point is to protect Black women from public scrutiny, then it failed. Def something our community is grappling with.
