The point is many women do not want to be belittled by being described by their physical body's potential. I hear it all the time from my friends who are liberal and progressives, who voted for marriage equality, and who support the equality act.

I get your point. On the surface, this language seems inclusive, but when many women are saying they feel excluded, and that's being ignored, i don't see that as helpful.

Women and pregnant people covers all the individuals who can become pregnant without erasing women. I don't see why that can't be the goal, to include everyone, and never to make the mistake of reducing us to our physical qualities. That's the intent of original gender theorist, John Money.
