The trans community is trying to cancel him for taking about our physiological differences and talking about the power of the LGBTQ community and how they have punched down at Black people. It’s something that many of us feel which is why we’re seeing such a schism in this discussion. I feel that most people are judging without watching the standup. In the end, he speaks about the loss of losing his trans friend. I’m just not buying that this is transphobic.

We shouldn’t have to pretend like we are the same. That’s not how we get to equality. That being said, he’s far from perfect and does need continued education. The trans community is not without critique and I think that’s Dave Chapelle’s point. The attempts to cancel him only further prove that point.

I know we normally are on the same page on things like this, but this time I think they are out of line for coming after Dave Chapelle this way. He’s tired of seeing Black folks cancelled for things White folks never get cancelled for. The double standard is what’s so disturbing for me.
