This article expressed the point brilliantly. Senator McConnell believes in cruelty as a method to control people. He wants people to feel hopeless to change anything. You are right that he doesn’t want people to look to the government to help. However as taxpayers who else could we look to during these harsh times?

I hope Kentucky votes him out but as a Black woman from Louisiana, I doubt it. People are conditioned to accept cruelty. Thanks so much for writing this.
