This is a well-written piece. I just wish that she had more support while trying to leave him. Ira was such a classic abuser. He used both physical and psychologicaal abusive tactics to isolate her from her loved ones. This is really sad but I am happy you wrote it. The more we talk about domestic violence, the better.
