However, the most egregious part is that a man, more than 10 years Melpomene’s senior, was responsible for her pregnancy. He received little to no blame. It was not his fault, because from that day on, many of the older women referred to her as a Fast Girl.

This reminds me of when my friend got pregant when we were 13. They called her a fast girl even though the man who got her pregnant was grown.
They made it seem like it was her fault when she was a child that was taken advantage of. Thanks for writing and speaking out about this.
