White Man Claims We're Better Off Today Because of Slavery

Here's why he's unequivocally wrong

White people often handle the topic of race with the finesse of a bull in a china shop, using brunt force and power to burst their way in, knock everything down, and leave chaos and confusion in their wake. For instance, when Matt Walsch, a White journalist with the Daily Wire, claimed that Black Americans with enslaved ancestors are better off today because of the chattel slavery system, he did so without any consideration for the truth. In America, White families have ten times the wealth as Black families, a racial wealth gap produced by the chattel slavery system, reinforced through prejudicial banking and lending practices during the Reconstruction and Jim Crow eras, and maintained by modern-day White Americans' opposition to engage in restorative justice for descendants of enslaved people.

Walsch and White people who share his viewpoint portray American society and Western society as inherently superior to African countries. According to Walsch, most Black Americans today would prefer to live in America and not the African nations their ancestors were forcibly taken from, presumably because of the current conditions of such countries.
