You have chosen to exert your privilege; instead of one person in your family being expempt from a rule, you applied it yourself and your entire family.

Privilege refers to people like you who think that they are the exception to every rule. Science across the board has not said that children cannot wear masks. Here is an article that can help you out in that regard:

You can presume it has to do with your whiteness. I think that is partially responsible for why you think that you have the right to jeopordize the health of others to fit your comfort.

Privilege is sneaky and I believe that it is not done on purpose most of the time. It mostly refers to subconscious behaviors.

Keep in mind, some schools will require children who attend to wear masks. That being said, you havethe right to parent your child in a way that makes you feel comfortable. I was just noting that this is an example of privilege to me.

When your family enters a grocery store, they could unknowingly infect workers, other shoppers, and increase your own family's chances of catching the virus.

My uncle died from COVID in March and as a black woman, I don't have the privilege of picking which rules to follow. I'm severely asthmatic and people making the same choices that you are put people like me in jeopordy.
