You made some excellent points throughout the article. My only quip is the aspect that no race is the enemy race. As a Black woman, I understand that white people still treat me as an enemy.
While you say that race still impacts our lives, on the other hand you also insinuate that it doesn't by saying "there is no enemy."
I would love to not be considered an enemy but we are not there yet. Race is a social construct and I understand we are all people. And I don't feel the need to call anyone mixed. Whatever they identify as, I respect wholeheartedly.
However, erasing the concept of mixed race people cannot be done without also deconstructing race, which would mean we would need to dismantle white supremacy. As long as we live in a society with a social hierarchy based on race, then people will continue to scrutinize mixed race people.
