You made some interesting and important points throughout this article. She is not actually free to show dissent towards the government in the same way we are.

I will watch the film and do not encourage a boycott. However, I still find it disturbing to be pro-police in this era. All police are not bad people but each one of them is part of a system that is oppressing the Chinese people.

I think its good to support the man who was beaten because it was wrong for anyone to treat him like that but that in no way makes it okay to say you support police too. Do you support them in oppressing people? In what other way could you support them?

I do not expect her, as an actress to fight the Chinese government so I do not blame her for not coming out pro-protesters but I also disagree with her support for the officers.
