You misunderstood my point. I understand that it was illegal. What I'm saying is that it's amoral to talk about the illegality since it wasn't right to have slaves in the first place. Calling them illegal legitimizes the institution of slavery. If you are okay with slavery, that's on you. I'm just providing my input.
