Your article is a breath of fresh air. So many times, I hear someone tell me, "don't worry. It will happen" lol and they assume I (a) want a kid and (b) that I should want a kid and (c) if I don't have a kid, all is lost. It's so dehumanizing. I find myself telling people often, "I have intrinsic value." something I would expect them to already know.

The peace I have waking up when I want, and designing my life how I want is something I treasure. Putting me first is restorative given everything I've endured and I make no apologies for enjoying my childfree life. I am still present in kids lives, like my niece and nephew, my besties kids, and others. But, I have my freedom, and that's something I'm really enjoying. It's nice to find other women who are also living childfree happily, but they seem far and few between.
