Your article was terrifyingly brilliant. I loved your emphasis on what white people want. Like you said, they don't want anyone to rock the boat. They don't mind some peaceful protest but aren't interested in expressions of outrage and pain. In additon, you did an amazing job of describing the passive radical myth. Martin Luther King Jr's history has been whitewashed to portray him as someone who always preached calm in times of upheaval. MLK Jr spoke about the importance and relevance of riots in the fight for civil rights.

I also found it fascinating that you brought up Colin Kaepernick whose movement was seen as too vulguar to the collective white consciousness. I see change on the horizon but your article brings up some patterns that indicate a reluctance to engage in meaningful change.
