Your article was terrifyingly insightful. Police officers have a warrior mentality that makes it very difficult for them to be unbiased arbiters of justice.

“Tamir Rice and John Crawford were both shot to death in Ohio because an Officer’s first instinct was to shoot” (Vitale, 2018)

It is clear that the current system of policing in this country has led to an oppressive environment for black people and marginalized communities. Black men are stopped and frisked, incarcerated, and abused by the police more than other groups of people.

Until more people understand that the system of policing has been developed as a form of oppression, they will defend the system and not be serous about making the necessary changes.
