You’ve made an excellent point. Many people do not like to discuss racism because they claim that they have no inherent bias. However, until we dismantle systematic racism, we will continue to see policies and city planning that puts black people at a disadvantage.

The average black family has one-tenth of the wealth of a white family. This is not be coincidence. It’s by design. After slavery and Jim Crow Laws were eradicated, policies like redlining have kept black communities poor, while uplifting white communities.

I want more people to understand that you don’t to be inherently biased to participate in a racist system designed to hurt black and marginalized people. Thank you for writing this article.
